Forest Aragon

Photographer

Origin: Los Angeles

Based in Los Angeles, Forest Aragon combines color and emotion like no other. We had the pleasure of getting to know him a little more. Read the interview and check out his work below:

Tell us a little bit about yourself (what made you get into photography? When did you start? etc.)

I’ve been taking pictures since I was about 15 or 16. In my life, visuals have been a means to express on a more holistic level - in a way that oftentimes feels more truthful than other forms of communication… It’s been very valuable for me in that sense. More imperceptible than words, thoughts, and ideas can be planted into an interpreter, and, unable to be immediately translated, these ideas get stored deeper within so that they gestate into something anew. This cycle is what compels me to continue.

Where do you get your inspirations from or what inspires you? Any artists that inspire you?

So many things and artists inspire me. I think internal worlds and gentleness are the greatest inspirations for me. In terms of artists - Hermann Hesse, Ryoji Ikeda, Hayden Dunham, Louise Bonnet, Mayumi Hosokura, Jason Steele, and many, many others.

What's next for you? Any exciting news you might want to spill to humanity?

I’m currently working on a new body of work.
